Pisa is een vooral leuke studentenstad tegenwoordig. Het is de hoofdstad van de gelijknamige Provincie Pisa met uiteraard een bijzondere scheve toren. Eentje voor de bucketlist. Een lunch in een van de vele restaurantjes in kleine straatjes kan een bezoek compleet maken.

Pisa is world-famous for its leaning tower, but surely the entire Piazza dei Miracoli has earned this name for its incredible beauty. So if you decide to visit it, do not overlook the Cathedral, the Baptistery and the Monumental Cemetery. You will definitely have to buy your ticket in advance (at least to climb the tower). Pisa, however, is also worth a visit for its historical centre, for Piazza dei Cavalieri with the palace housing the prestigious Scuola Normale, for the lungarni with the small Church of the Spina or the small hidden squares such as Piazza della Pera.
