This museum has it all – a dinosaur hall, planetarium, IMAX theater, and butterfly exhibit. I’ve always enjoyed the gemstone collection. Parking can be a nightmare since the zoo is close-by. I’d Uber there instead.

It's a huge glass cone where a rain forest has been created as a butterfly sanctuary.
Has 5 floors of permanent exhibits, astronomy, space science, Native American culture, paleontology, energy, chemistry, geology, seashells and Texas wildlife. Free on Thursdays from 2 pm till closing.
This is literally the best museum I’ve ever been to. It actually beat the smithsonian in my opinion. It’s a must see if you’re in Houston
My little ones love this place. They act like they never been here before each time we go.
All exhibits are detailed & engaging | I love coming here to see the dome of butterflies...there are TONS flying around you & if you're lucky one will land on you.

This is an awesome little museum situated in a three story greenhouse, located in the museum district in downtown Houston. It is great for kids with short attention spans.
