The Collection brings together an award winning archaeology museum and the region’s premier art gallery, the Usher Gallery, in the heart of historic Lincoln. There is a buzzing cafe, stop off for small children in a gated play area, lively programme of events and charming gift shop. It's also FREE to get in most days unless a ticketed event is on, although donations are welcome. The Usher Gallery is one of the region's premier art galleries and is located next to The Collection in the heart of historic Lincoln. The Usher Gallery, along with The Collection, displays a fine collection of fine and decorative arts and plays host to a huge variety of contemporary art exhibitions.

The Collection is an under visited gem in Lincoln and comprises of an archeology museum and the Usher Gallery. The museum is interesting and entertaining and aside from special exhibitions, it's free! What's not to like!? (The Stokes cafe attached is also very good) The Usher Gallery is also delightful and in my view is perfectly scaled for a art gallery (It's easy to hit saturation point in larger galleries in my opinion) and makes for an ideal visit on a rainy (or sunny) day.
