Large country pub with thatched roof, dark wood panelled floor and an inventive menu of pub food. Wonderful place to sit outside in the Summer months and a must-go-to place for lunch when visiting Cockington Country Park. www.vintageinn.co.uk Phone: 01803 690264

Our local pub in a Lutyens designed thatched house in Cockington. Good selection of ales and plenty of outside seating. You can walk down our road, turn left down the narrow lane and then join the boardwalk down the water meadows to take you into Cockington. Alternatively there are walks from the top of the estate down Manscombe woods into Cockington and to the pub. A nice place for an evening drink in the sun.

Dating back to 1936 The Drum is a cosy thatched pub with open fires, a lovely seasonal menu, super friendly staff and is dog friendly too! The gardens are lovely in the summer Just take a left, then right out of the front of Higher Lodge, you’ll find a path with steps down directly to the pub!

Dating back to 1936 The Drum's claim to fame is its architect; the world famous Sir Edwin Lutyens (www.lutyenstrust.org.uk). Lutyens designed the pub as the focal point of the village and today his beautiful vision retains all its traditional charm thanks to a recent million pound restoration project that replaced its thatched roof, restored its beautiful gardens and made the most of its superb views. A country pub near you oozing rural charm and rustic character, our picturesque surroundings provide the perfect backdrop for savouring the hearty, seasonal pub food on our menu, and the carefully nurtured cask ales and fine wines gracing our bar. Soak up the sun in our pub beer garden, with plenty of seating, shaded tables and outdoor dining available. Whether you are planning dinner with friends or Sunday lunch with family, book a table online and enjoy some quality time with those you love the most. Arriving by car? You’ll find ample car parking space right outside our Torquay pub and restaurant.
