Nature and outdoor enthusiasts will love Rock Creek Park, a forrest-y enclave in the middle of DC. Those looking to pursue outdoor activities can hike, walk, bike, go horseback riding, play gold or tennis, and enjoy a picnic.
A national park that runs from the National Mall all the up to Maryland, this is a great spot to run/walk and feel like you’re out of the city There are several places where you can enter the park, the closest is by the National Zoo at the intersection of Harvard St. and Beach Drive
Great for long walks in the city. There is also horse riding and lessons. You need to book those in advance. Problem need to get there by car (Uber or taxi).
Rock Creek Park in a lovely refuge in the middle of the city. You can have a picnic, visit the planetarium, go for a long hike or even tour an historic mill.
Rock Creek Park runs through NW DC from Georgetown up to Maryland. Enjoy miles of trails, the creek, numerous picnic sites, etc. A great day to spend a peaceful day in Washington, D.C.
