Food Scene

Very good prices and tasty tapas when you have a drink. This place has a break from 17.00 to 20.00 as many of the good places here in Madrid :) Have some botellines (small 125ml beers) at the bar's counter or have a big meal at the restaurant area with tables.

This market has lots of places to enjoy, there is a greek restaurant with a magnific tzatziki, a famous japanese restaurant where you have to try the chirashis, an oyster bar and much more to discover.

The food is amazing, the daily menu is cheap and if you're lucky and visit on thursday you can have a delicious paella as a starter and then try one of the many typical Spanish dishes that this place offers. As a dessert I always have the chocolate cake ;) but there are lots of things to try. Remember that the daily menu ends around 16.00 and the place is closed from 16.30 until 20.30. Try to get there before 15.00 and you won't wait that much.

Drinks & Nightlife

This is one of my favorite places to have a drink before going to a bigger party, they have a VERY long happy hour (from 18.00 until 23.00) where you can have a cheap pint of beer (the good kind of beer) or a gin tonic with a very tasty bowl of peanuts (no kidding, sometimes I end up eating more than what i drink) This place is sometimes crowded, but there are tables on the outside and some comfortable sofas inside.

Sightseeing

El rastro is a weekly event every Sunday where you can find lots of small stands to buy anything from antiques to clothes, tools and even tasty street food. Everything starts in plaza del cascorro and takes place in all the neighborhood, you have to be there before 13.00 to find everything open and you have to be mindful about your things, because it can get really crowded, but it's really worth it.
