Ten minute's drive away, free parking and large car park. The best outdoor park in this area for children, lots of dog walking paths, swimming pool and fitness centre.
Brocks Hill Country Park & Visitor Centre

Bradgate Park is a great full-day destination for families and will guarantee to wear out your children. Free entry with a pay & display car park (top tip park on the road outside), you can walk for miles along tarmac paths, the children can take their bikes/scooters/roller skates and there's a big hill to climb with stunning views of Leicestershire from the top.
Full of bracken, wild deer and historic trees, this is a protected area of natural beauty and there are lots of rocks for children to clamber around on. Take a packed lunch or stop for a snack at the tea-rooms. There's one inside the park or a couple of great cafes at the car park entrance.
Avoid sunday afternoons!
Newtown Linford Car Park
Bradgate Park is a great full-day destination for families and will guarantee to wear out your children. Free entry with a pay & display car park (top tip park on the road outside), you can walk for miles along tarmac paths, the children can take their bikes/scooters/roller skates and there's a big hill to climb with stunning views of Leicestershire from the top.

There's ice cream shops and a couple of pubs, a nice restaurant and if the weather is nice, it's a lovely half-day attraction thats free.

Summer season only, (check our leaflets in the annex), this is a great half-day visit for adults and children alike. You'll be lost in a natural-grown maze and if you visit in late summer, the maize will be taller than the adults! There are questions and things to find in the maze so it's not just a question of finding the middle. Our kids visit this every year without fail, suitable for toddlers up to teenagers! Not ideal for pregnant women or wheelchair users due to lots of walking and uneven ground. Make sure you take a buggy for toddlers to take a rest!

Remember you'll need to carry all your shopping home with you though!

The nearest supermarket to our home, you can walk there within 20 minutes. It's not the cheapest place to buy your groceries but it's a large store and should have everything you might need. There is also a cafe serving breakfast and light meals.
