Парк имени 28 гвардейцев-панфиловцев – это самый популярный парк отдыха в Алматы. Он был заложен в 70-е гг. XIX века на месте станичного кладбища, потому первоначально был назван Старокладбищенским парком. Парк представляет собой зеленую территорию в 18 га, разделенную ровными дорожками и аллеями, где произрастает смешанная лиственная роща многолетних дубов, карагачей, осин, кленов, тополей, сосен и елей.
В Аллее памяти установлены обелиски с именами 28-ми героев-панфиловцев, выстоявших в неравном сражении с немцами, а в ее центре горит Вечный Огонь, к подножию которого в праздники алмаатинцы возлагают цветы и венки в знак уважения к погибшим в Отечественной войне 1941-1945 гг.

The Central Park of Culture and Leisure is located in Medeu district of Almaty.
In the park there are children's attractions, children's railway, winter and summer water parks, sports grounds, boat and catamaran rental stations, various cafes, a dinopark.
The central park of the city is the place of constant meetings of friends, lovers, the place of active rest, where you ride with winds on the carousels, leisurely walks on such familiar paths to such trifles. He rightly ranks first in attendance in our hometown of Almaty.

The ice rink Medeu, located at an altitude of 1691.2 meters above sea level, is known all over the world. It was erected in 1972. The ice surface occupies 10.5 thousand square meters, which allows to hold competitions in speed skating, hockey and figure skating.
More than 120 world records were established here by famous athletes. In recent years, the ice rink has been improved after the modernization.
The mountain valley was named after Medeu, a nomad who lived in the last century and broke his aul in these picturesque places.
