Food Scene

Great for families with young children. There is an indoor playground that is great for rainy days or when it's just too hot. They have a concierge service where you can order food in the drive through, park, and then come into the restaurant. An employee will bring your order to you so you do not have to wait in line with wiggly little guys.

This is our go-to on a hot summer day. It's 45 minutes to this natural spring. $5 for a carload entry fee. Cool, clear water. You may want to wear some water shoes or sandals as this spring is known as "Rock Springs" by the locals. There is a lot of shady areas to get out of the sun if it gets too hot. You will want to get there early, around 9:00-9:30, especially on the weekends. They will close the gates when it gets to capacity.

How to enjoy the Grand Floridian without being a guest: You can park for free at the self parking lot at the Grand Floridian. Go up to the hotel and catch the monorail and ride around Disney World. (You do not have to be a guest.) You can get off the monorail at the Contemporary Hotel and go to the food court for a reasonably price meal (for Disney.) At the Grand Floridian you can walk to the beach/boat house area and watch the fireworks at the Magic Kingdom. They usually show Disney movies on the lawn near the pool during the summer so you can catch a movie too. There is live music in the main hall of the hotel. Sit for a while and enjoy. During Christmas, all the hotels have unique Christmas trees in their lobbies. You can ride around on the monorail or even jump on a Disney bus to tour around.
