Great place to play some pool and get away from tourist. Not a very well know place (for tourists) but its great as its cheaper. There is a pizza bar above as well so you can get some food too. We go quite often to relax, great place to have a few beers and talk.

Lies right in the center of the ruin pub district. Great nightlife. Go and ask for an 'alattomos' (translates for sneaky).

Parks & Nature
It is a lovely spot and we oftern visit it with my girlfriend. In the winter there is an ice scating ring on the lake . Behind the lake, in the park there is a lovely castle called Vardahunyad Castle, built in 1896 it is lovely specially as the sun sets.

Really a lovely place when the weather is on your side. We often go down in the summer with a bottle of wine with some friends and sit on the bank and talk. Also a great place for running. With a great view of Buda Hill, the Parliament and Citadel it is a great spot.
There is also a running track that goes all the way around the island. It is exactly 5km and great for early morning runs. Easily accessibly with tram 4 and 6 (going towards Szél Kálmán tér, it stops right in the middle of the bridge)

There is also a running track that goes all the way around the island. It is exactly 5km and great for early morning runs. Easily accessibly with tram 4 and 6 (going towards Szél Kálmán tér, it stops right in the middle of the bridge)
Small hike from Szent Gellér Tér up the mountain. My favorite spot for a nighttime view of Budapest. You can see everything from here. The castle, Margaret island, the parliament, chain bridge even heroes square if you have good eyes. I would recommend not going all the way to the top (there are a lot of tourist near the citadel) but sticking to the paths up the mountain that you are able to see the river from and heading towards the top there. You will see small sitting areas with awesome, awesome views, especially at night.

Small hike from Szent Gellér Tér up the mountain. My favorite spot for a nighttime view of Budapest. You can see everything from here. The castle, Margaret island, the parliament, chain bridge even heroes square if you have good eyes. I would recommend not going all the way to the top (there are a lot of tourist near the citadel) but sticking to the paths up the mountain that you are able to see the river from and heading towards the top there. You will see small sitting areas with awesome, awesome views, especially at night.

Exhibits the fascist and communist regimes that ruled in Hungary in the 20th century. It is also a memorial to the victims of these regimes, including those detained, interrogated, tortured or killed in the building.
Definitely worth a visit if history is something you are interested in. It is about 5 minutes away from the house. I would recommend it to anyone visiting Hungary.

The world's third largest Parliament building. Completed in 1902 it is a beautiful building. There are great restaurants nearby. There are tours inside the Parliaments but please check how that works online as it changes all the time.

Can easily recommend it. Great place, we go there relatively often. It's not cheap (about 15 euro/main course) but great Italian food cooked in a wood fire stove and great service.

All you can eat restaurant with a great variety of foods from sushi to venison, to freshly cooked shark. It is 6,999HUF per person but that includes unlimited alcohol as well ( beer, wine, and champagne). The desserts are really nice as well and there is just so much food to choose from all of which is really good standard.
If its your birthday you get a free cake too, but I think you have to pre book it in advance and show an ID once you are there.

Excellent choice of wine. You should definitely go there if you want to have a great Michelin meal.
