Food Scene

Our favorite bakery in Madrid that serves a variety of cakes from classics like Tres Leches/Red Velvet to more unique ones like Buenno Cake Guinness beer cake. Apart from the cakes there is a good selection of coffees and refreshments. Serves both; eat in and take away and you can order your cake as well We recommend trying a slice of the Tres Leches Cake and Bananofee Chocolate Cream Pie

Nice little bakeshop that's brimming with baked bread and dessert. It's a good place to grab morning coffee and a muffin. You can also dine in.

Sightseeing

The Palacio Real is Madrid’s Royal Palace and is also the largest palace in Europe with over 2,800 rooms. It is the official residence of the Royal family; however it is only used for state ceremonies these days. The palace is open to the public but even just a walk around its grounds and courtyard is a great free thing to do in Madrid. The Royal Palace is a beautiful building to look at and once you have taken in this architectural splendor, check out the view from the side of courtyard.

The structure is well worth a visit for its wonderful Beaux Arts architecture – an extremely elegant French style characterized by conservative lines and impressive sculptural elements. Recommend seeing it both day and at night when it's lit up.

Hybrid of Sight Seeing and Food Scene. It's Madrid's most iconic market that celebrated it's 100th birthday last year. In my opinion, it's a bit of a tourist trap for food, however, you should definitely not miss out on the visit. We recommend stopping by Mozheart who have over 30 years of cheese making experience. Try their Burrata with Spanish ham and figs,

Entertainment & Activities

Hammam Al Ándalus Madrid are the only Arab Baths in Madrid, and they're a short walk from our apartment. Hammam is the recreation of ancient Arab baths in Al Ándalus. Its decor and ambience created a climate that provides an oasis for relaxation in the heart of Madrid. There is also a steam room with a source for warm tea. It's quite a nice and unique experience.!

Flamenco is in the roots of Spanish culture. We've seen Flamenco performances several times at Cardamomo, and we love it every time we go. Highly recommend getting tickets that include the sangria. We recommend getting a seat up close, but skip the dinner package. There are better options for food. Besides, trying dinner at a different restaurant allow you to see a new place.
