This is a bar with some regular bar food, but also several dishes that are a step above. Try the greek salad with calamari. You won't be sorry. They also serve some of the best fish and chips in the city.

THE BEST corned beef hash around (according to those who are fans.) Always a quiche on the menu and full bar with bloody mary and mimosa specials on the weekends.

Grab a snack on Saturday morning between May and November and head over to the Farmer's Market at Deering Oaks Park. Holy Donut has another location in the Old Port.

Small local chain of grocers that produces their own delicious deli meats including roast beef, pastrami and prosciutto ham. They sell high quality fresh meats and produce. They also back excellent bread including bagels and morning rolls. Good wine selection!

This island houses the Baxter School for the Deaf. Hikers are asked to stay on the 1.5 mile trail and the beaches. Only one port a pot at the trail head. Small parking lot. A nice bike ride makes that a non-issue! Pack a picnic!

Need a place to go for a jog or walk? The Back Cove is ringed by a lovely 3 .25 mile trail. Only one steep hill to get your heart pumping.

It also is the location of the Farmer's market from May through at least October on Saturday mornings. Kids programs are help in the band shell during the summer months. Other events are held in the park including Shakespeare plays and Pride festivals.
