Porto Limnionas is famous for its clear blue waters. The landscape is rocky and the coast (natural bay) is small and quiet. It is really fascinating. The combination of the mountain and the sea creates a landscape so appealing that its beauty can be rightly described as heavenly. The view and water here is phenomenal! It does NOT have a sandy beach and if you want to go in the water you have to jump off the rocks to get in and climb the rocks to get out - so not ideal for low level swimmers.

Skinari is the most northerly tip of Zakynthos. Everyone that visits there is enchanted by it. The natural surroundings are not only spectacular but are also important environmentally. There is a rare plant that is found only here in Skinari and nowhere else in the world. The lighthouse at Skinari in Zakynthos is a great place to take ' all in one" boat trips to both the Blue Caves and Shipwreck - which are run by the Potamitis Brothers - at the best price!

Kampi is a small village surrounded by olives and vineyards. It is literally on the edge of the cliff, overlooking the bay of Schiza and the open sea, from a height of 300 meters, offering an impressive view for the visitors, who flock to admire the sunset. In the village of Kampi, in the top of the rock of Shiza, dominates a huge Cross that was built in the memory of those who lost their life in the times of Bondage. From that point the view is astonishing and it’s worth to visit one of the small cafes or restaurants of the area, and enjoy the sunset. Just outside the village you can see the Mycenaean cemetery with carved graves and the great cross, that is a 1940s civil war memorial.

Kiliomenos is a rural mountain village and one of the highest on the island with some houses dating back as far as the 16th Century. One thing that will certainly make an impression on you in the village of Kiliomenos is the 'dark' and somehow mystic bell tower that stands separately from the church itself. Don’t be intimidated by the bell tower what with its strange symbols and imposing height of 22 meters, as according to locals the symbols represent both good and bad and life and death! Built back in 1893 it is one of the few churches in Greece with gothic elements.

Keri is built over the sea at a height of 200 meters and offers unique magnificent views. In this village is also the remarkable church of Virgin Mary of Keriotissa with its wonderful iconostasis. At the cape of Marathias is the well-known Keri lighthouse built in 1925 with a tower height of 9 meters and a focal height of 190 meters, from which there is a fantastic view of the two huge white rocks of Megali and Mikri Myzithra that protrude above the sea like pyramids. The view is stunning. Wherever you can stand to contemplate, the unspoiled rocks are joined to the sea, in an apotheosis of incredible green. Even from this point you can admire one of the most famous sunsets of the Mediterranean. The Ionian spreads out in front of your eyes where the colors of the sunset blend harmoniously with the steep slope and the tranquil red of the reflective waters.

Argassi Bridge is built at the outfall of a river and is today ruined, located just 10 meters from the seashore, in the small harbor of Argassi. Almost half of the bridge, which used to be part of the main road, is now resting on the shore and the other half is immersed in the sea. This is due to severe erosion from the seawater and the winds. The bridge was originally constructed in 1885 and consists of three arches.

The Keri Caves are located on the southwest coast of Zakynthos (Zante), on the peninsula of Keri and can be accessed only by the sea.The water is crystal clear and has amazing blue colors because of the sun light that is reflected inside the caves. This makes them ideal for snorkelling. Excursions to the caves are organized mainly from towns located in the southern part of the island (Laganas, Agios Sostis, Limni Keriou).

Undeniably Cameo island is one of the most picturesque points of the island. This privately-owned small isle is located just off the shore of Laganas. Until 1633 it was linked to the mainland of Laganas, until it was separated by an earthquake. Cameo Island is accessed via a small wooden bridge from the main island of Zakynthos. There’s a small fee to pay on arrival, as this is a private island, but the fee includes a drink of your choice from the beachside bar; whether that’s a Manhattan or a pint of beer is up to you. Young children can for free (but their free drink is limited to something non-alcoholic!). For the best of Cameo Island, come early in the morning to spend the day relaxing on the secluded bay. Snorkel in the clear blue waters, relax on the golden sands with stunning views of Marathonisi Island, or sip on a cocktail before cooling off with a dip in the calm waters. You may even spot endangered loggerhead turtles. When you’ve had your fill, it’s just a short boat trip back to Laganas for a romantic evening meal. Visiting after dark is a must for couples and groups of friends. The island really comes to life at night, with live music on the beach and colourful lights creating an unforgettable atmosphere. There are two bars here, one on the beach and another on the clifftop with stunning views of the sunset. Both serve a range of alcoholic and soft drinks.

A real hidden gem of Zakynthos. A little lovely beach, especially if you are traveling with small children or if you like snorkeling. There are small waves, the water is shallow and clean and there are places with shade . The entrance in the sea is quite rocky, so you'd probably need special shoes, but after the first two meters, the sand is nice and smooth. Make sure to bring your snorkeling equipment...There you can see the turtle nests. Unbelievable Nature’s place.

The best dive center in Zakynthos, by far. Great crew, friendly people, welcoming, accommodating, easy going, the boat captain (and dive center) and the rest of the crew make you feel comfortable and safe, are always with a warm smile and positive attitude, and willing to help out with even the smallest of things. Nice dive sites too (try not to miss the caves in Keri.)

The church of St’ Dennis is the most important on the island as it is devoted to St’ Dennis, the patron saint of the island and its relic is kept in a silver coffin. Strani’s Hill is a beautiful wooded place that offers a captivating view. This was one of Dionysios Solomos favorite places; it was here that the poet was inspired, from canonnades in Mesologgi, and wrote the “Hymn to Liberty” that later became Greece’s National Anthem. At a short distance on top of the hill there is Solomo’s mansion, while at the small square in front of it one may see his bust.
