A 20 minute stroll along the nearby canal towpath will bring you to The Windmill. After a refreshing drink in their lovely beer garden , or lunch if you’ve worked up an appetite, you can then amble back along the Middlewood Way - which used to be the railway line connecting Bollington to Marple.

For three months every summer this Elizabethan manor house is transformed into a outdoor theatre. A great place to spend a day - lovely gardens and a fantastic insight into life in a mill. There is a good little restaurant there too. Quarry Bank is around 20 mins drive from Bollington.

Why not take a trip to Liverpool but with a twist. From Birkenhead you can get the Mersey Ferry and arrive in Liverpool a different way. You then have enough time to wander round the Albert Dock before catching the ferry back to collect your car.
