A must, but check if it's open during your stay as it closes in the off season. Your in for an even greater treat if you visit near Christmas or Halloween. If you want to go back to the apartment for lunch, get a re-entry ticket upon leaving so you don't have to pay in again. Get tour pass armbands for the kids and big kids ;)
TOP TIP! Put 2 tour pass armbands on one kid and they can decide who joins them each time they ride.
Try to visit while the locals are at work because they love it too and it can be very busy on the weekends.
Look out for the fireworks at 23:45 on Saturdays form May to September . You cant miss them if your at the apartment : ).

We always take visitors on the Netto boat canal trip which departs from the picturesque Nyhavn.
Its a lot cheaper than the enclosed boat nearby as there is no roof but unless it is windy or raining this is the one to take.
A great way to get a sense of the city so try and get it in early. Remember to use the bathroom before departing and maybe have an extra layer of clothing as it can get a bit windy when you cross the the harbour
