The location is a bit off the beaten track and they have a small parking lot, but those minor inconveniences are well worth dealing with for an amazing meal!

Amazing hole in the wall for great Mexican breakfast or lunch. They are only open Monday-Friday, but if you happen to be in town during the week, you should definitely consider checking it out. Solid, traditional Mexican dishes like Huevos Rancheros and Chile Rellenos, as well as fantastic aguas frescas that change daily. The music tends to be loud inside, but they also have a nice small outdoor patio available for dining.

Beautiful recreation area on the north eastern edge of town. Easily accessible by car. There is a paved path that goes a few miles into the park and a tram, making it an accessible park for those with limited mobility or who don't want to go 'off road'. There are a number of beautiful hiking trails of various intensities that are accessible from the visitors' center and parking area.

There are a number of beautiful hiking trails of various intensities that are accessible from the visitors' center and parking area.
A beautiful place to watch the sunset over the desert. There is a parking area with a few picnic tables. A few short trails start/end at the parking area. Watch out for rattlesnakes and other critters, even though you're close to town they're not uncommon!

A bit of a drive (about 30-40 minutes), but well worth the trip if you have the time. There are wide variety of trails from very easy/flat to more difficult. The Sutherland to Canyon Loop Trail is a hike we do often with our toddlers. It's easy and there are a couple creek crossings where water is often flowing. The Romero Pools hike is a great one as well (there are pools large enough to swim in during/after monsoon season), but much more difficult.

A combination zoo, natural history museum, and botanical garden, the Desert Museum is a must see when visiting Tucson. The entrance fee is a bit pricy ($22 for general admission), but it's a great way to learn about the Sonoran desert and experience some amazing views.
