It is a scanscene of Ukrainian traditional archtecture and living. Fields, orchards, pretty houses, fairs and forests. It is nice all year round there. It is a lovely place for people who loves to walk and discover things. You have better to take taxi there.

They use natural materials, make dresses for all figure types and for different occasions, and follow fair trade rules. Not a mass market at all. Prices are reasonable. Nice girls serve you a tea or a coffee and even wine in the evenings. You can also mend your clothes there

The prices get higher the higher you climb - most of people go down along the descent, and start their shopping on the top. There also bars and galleries on that street, live street music and funny people to look at.

There is a fundaments of Chirch of the Tithes, and an Alley with various street sculptures and coffee-to-go. There is also the Historical Museum. Go along the Alley, then try to find Striletska street (from Sofiyska sqr or from Velyka Zhytomyrska. That street is full of murals. It will lead you to Yaroslaviv Val street. Eat handpies there in Yaroslava, then turn to the left and find Golden Gate. Turn to the left there, and sooner or later you will get home :)

there is an underground quarter under Kontraktova sqr. It is not very cosy, but you may wind there any kind of things, like plug for your phone, new battery for watches, make a photocopy, buy socks etc. There is another underground quarter on the other side- please enter there from Khoryva str.
