The atmosphere is really nice with vintage furniture and, dramatic lighting. The restaurant is situated in an former water pomp and still works as one, wich you can feel during heavy rain. The food is great, especially the steak and burgers, and during the weekends they will have live music.

Local brewery with some great beer! They have 5 different choices and the beers are EUR 2.50 each. You can sit outside at one of many picnic tables enjoy the sun, views of the canal and enjoy locally brewed beer. This place is not that large, so it can get quite busy on a sunny weekend day.

Russian former capital - the city of Saint Petersburg, today one of the Europe’s largest cities, was built by the tsar Peter the Great starting from 1703, after the tsar’s stay in Zaandam and Amsterdam during his grand trip to Western Europe (so called Great Embassy: 1697 - 1698). The city original name had been Sankt Petersburg. Known also as Petrograd and later for years as Leningrad, the city bears today its original Dutch name. But the Dutch element is not only in the city’s name: Saint Petersburg was built with the help of the Dutch, since the area chosen by tsar Peter for its foundation, was muddy and full of swamps. The contacts between Amsterdam and Saint Petersburg continue up to these days, and since February 2004 the famous Saint Petersburg state museum – the Hermitage, has one of its dependences in Amsterdam (the other are in London and Las Vegas).

Bustling Albert Cuypstraat serves as the main drag through De Pijp and the location for Albert Cuyp Market, the largest and most famous of Amsterdam’s many outdoor markets. Beyond this sometimes-frantic thoroughfare, tiny lanes beckon urban explorers in search of the latest trends and hidden gems. Nearly half the residents living in De Pijp are foreigners and a good number of them are students. Here you'll find a multitude of ethnic restaurants, great cafes and bars, and a brilliant array of locally owned shops, all catering to a broad range of budgets and tastes.
