The way downtown restaurants should be - relaxed, stylish & hidden in green... not to mention that perfect mood for a laid back coffee or a tasty lunch. Beware of the ventilation issue though - you might end up smelling like a french fry if you sit too long in the upper space. Still I'm recommending it blindly.

Krakow's first sushi bar that dates back to the nineties. The food is great & you can book an isolated Kyoto style room if you wish. BTW - your close neighbors are the owners. Say hello from Michal if you meet them in the elevator :)

You eat under the trees and get suntan while your kids play in the playground. What more do you need from life ? Really it's the best restaurant in town for families. If the weather is bad there's an indoor playroom too (yes, with weekend animation hurrah !)

If you're a parent you probably need to eat and finally get some rest from your offspring. This place has a huge playground upstairs (with baby balls, yeah !) but you need to book well in advance as it's popular like Rihanna.
If you're not a parent it's worth a visit too for the busy and chaotic atmosphere (think live accordion over pork and beer) but the only proper food here is a Tatar

If you're not a parent it's worth a visit too for the busy and chaotic atmosphere (think live accordion over pork and beer) but the only proper food here is a Tatar
A bit farther away but you might appreciate it if you've got kids - great pizza right next to the park. It has a playground too (both indoor and outdoor)

Drinks & Nightlife
If you're a hipster with a free afternoon, a parent who needs a rest while the kids amuse themselves or any other breed that just wants to get lazy on a deckchair by the river - this is your spot. This place gets crowdy so at peak times you might wait 2 hours for your food, but who cares ? That's 2 hours spent in the very center of Krakow's hip culture ;)
Btw - at night this turns into something even more cool ;)

A designer barge straight from the Netherlands. Great food and a fantastic night club on summer weekends. If it's hot like Sahara - this place is the coolest in town.

I own this place ;) It's tiny and you are welcome ! Sip Czech beer sitting under the maple or have a vodka shot and chat with the barmaid. This is a dream of a laid back wannabe come true ;)

Parks & Nature
Not an official park but in fact much cooler than that. A dramatic cliff, a secret climbing spot, a campfire ground, an illegal swimming area (tell it to the tens of locals on a hot weekend), a scuba diving venue (attractions include a car, an excavator and a perfectly black abyss) and a huge green area with wastelands woods and beehives that makes you feel like somewhere else. Yes it has an Elvis Presley monument too.

Not a public park - this is land maintained by hobbyist gardeners. There's a gate but it should be open during daytime. Just go through and appreciate the hard work it takes to grow that radish and tulips. The tranquility is also worth the visit plus it's a perfect alternative to reach the river from your place.

Just go through and appreciate the hard work it takes to grow that radish and tulips. The tranquility is also worth the visit plus it's a perfect alternative to reach the river from your place.

The woods around can make your morning jogging a mystic experience - you might spot a deer or a wild boar. Plus the nearby graveyard is pure magic at night with all the candle lights - if you're into that sort of thing... The area is perfectly reachable by your bike though the ascend might be tough with no shifter.

A taste of Japan by the Vistula river. Honestly the last time I went there was 5 years ago but it is right next door to you & much more than decent... plus you get a perfect view on the Wawel castle.
