Casino is a well stocked supermarche - open everyday until 19:00 (I think) lunchtime is a good time to go as it is less crowded and you will need a € for the trolley cart.

I love this lunchtime restaurant in Le Beausset Square. Daily menu, reservations recommended and closed on week-ends but this casual and very friendly restaurant ticks all my boxes and good for kids as they can run around in the Square safely

Another must-see destination is Sanary-sur-Mer, which was recently designated the “Most Beautiful Market in France” following a nationwide poll in France. It is held every wednesday between 9:00 AM and 1:00 PM. Besides having a breathtaking port and easy beach access, Sanary opens a bustling night market during the summer months and has great little shops for clothes, food and all sorts in the side streets - it's a must!

Beautiful medieval village and only 10 minutes by car or 30 minute hike. The location for Marcel Pagnol's "Le Femme du Boulangerie"

Another medieval village very close by- not as tourist orientated as Le Castellet and a bit more upscale. Very atmospheric and charming

Nice little seaside port popular with the windsurfing crowd. There is also a little ferry that goes to Les iles Paul Ricard - takes about 5 minutes

When your sitting on the terrace at night at Villa Marco you will see a blue light in the distance. This is Le Beausset Vieux. It's an old chapel with amazing views right across the coast all the way to Toulon. The drive is NOT for the faint hearted. It's narrow and steep and has to accomodate light traffic in both directions (there are homes along the way). Driving carefully is a must but the views really make it worthwhile!

Cassis is picture postcard perfect but nightmare parking unless your really lucky! I prefer to go by train from St Cyr station to Cassis and then get a taxi into town - less stress! Some excellent restaurants especially Nino's on the harbour and great boat trips out to the Calanques which is fun if you don't mind getting a bit wet!

Essentials

early closing on wednesdays and Boulangeries close early on Sunday. There is a petrol station in town, ATM's, tourist office and also pharmacy, post office, florist plus great big friday morning market which finishes at 1:00 PM (and a smaller one on sunday) You can park free in the car parks for 2 hours but make sure you place the time card in the window with your arrival time.

Wine Tasting

It's impossible to pick one Domaine to visit over another but i will try - if you love Rose wine you must make a few trips to the local supermarket and try some local wines - and visit some Domaines - Cassis has brilliant whites, the reds are a bit heavy for me and the rose is superb - nearby ones that come to mind are Domaine Ott, Pieracci, Tempiers, Vivonne, - I think there is about 50 in total so plenty to choose from!
Great Beach, Water Park and Beachside lunch - get here early for good parking!

I really love taking kids here, it's a western themed amusement park about a 20/25 minute drive from the house. It has daily shows, a roller coaster, water slide and enough rides for all ages!

Drinks & Nightlife

Bandol in the summer has lots of cocktail bars, a night market and a very fun and lively atmosphere. Parking is plentiful and the crowd is all ages so it's a good mix

Parks & Nature

If you head to Madrague which is just next to St Cyr les Lecques, you can join the coastal hiking trail to Le Port D'Alon and beyond to Bandol. This is a paradise walk along the coast and every picture you have seen of the Cote Bleu coast can be recreated here. It's challenging in parts and you need to prepare with good shoes (there are walking sticks in the house) but gorgeous is not enough. You can also follow directions to Le Port D'Alon for a shorter ramble and swim in the Calanque. In the summer there is also a small restaurant for snacks and beer!
