Beautiful remote setting above the castle - best to go at lunchtime to enjoy the views
Good local food and their own wine from the Castello di Vico Morcote. It's family friendly and there is a lot of space for children to run around safely while parents enjoy some peace on the terrace. Also a great starting point for hiking.
Horse-riding is available from here also

Good local food and their own wine from the Castello di Vico Morcote. It's family friendly and there is a lot of space for children to run around safely while parents enjoy some peace on the terrace. Also a great starting point for hiking.

The restaurant and pizzeria Grotto Renaldo is one of few places open late (until 3am).
We recommend taking the pizza.

Most supermarkets are closed in the evening and earlier on Saturdays. This place is good for basics only but is open in the evenings and all weekends.

Take the cable car up from Paradiso. Wonderful views - but take some warm clothes - it can be chilly so high. I would avoid the restaurant.

The restaurant is self service but offers good value meals and is open after the store closes ( access from the back after hours)

Take the cable car from Rivera top to Monte Tamaro. This si good for a family - as there are activities such as zip line, coaster bob,mountain bike and adventure park, and the church designed by renowned local architect Mario Botta

The lidos are swimming pools and gathering places for young people by the lake. Teenagers and children will also like spending the day and evening at the lido at Carona where there is a huge pool wth a 10m trampoline and separate children's pools.

This small town is just above Vico Morcote. There are very good hiking trails (linking to Vicania) , restaurants and a very good pool/lido where families and young people can spend the day. There is a huge pool wth a 10m trampoline and separate children's pools. In the summer there are special evenings at the Carona pool with live music targeting at young people.

This small town is just above Vico Morcote. There are very good hiking trails (linking to Vicania) , restaurants and a very good pool/lido where families and young people can spend the day. There is a huge pool wth a 10m trampoline and separate children's pools. In the summer there are special evenings at the Carona pool with live music targeting at young people.
We havent tried this yet - but it looks like a nice way to end a day trip to monte Tamaro
