The National Tile Museum in Lisbon is one of the most important museums in Portugal, with its unique collection, dedicated to the tile, distinctive artistic expression of Portuguese culture, and the unique building in which it is installed, the old Convent of Madre de God, founded in 1509 by queen Leonor (1458-1525).
In the collection, especially a tiled panel is a panoramic Lisbon before the 1755 earthquake.

Sightseeing
Alfama is the oldest and one of the typical neighborhoods of Lisbon. Its name derives from Arabic Al-hamma (الحمة), which means baths or fountains.
The most spectacular views of Alfama have been the promenade formed by the viewpoints of Portas do Sol and Santa Luzia. Above and surrounding the Alfama are the hill of the São Jorge Castle, fortress and royal palace until the sixteenth century, and the hill of Saint Vincent. Besides the castle, the main area of the monuments are the Cathedral, the Church of São Estevão and the Monastery of São Vicente de Fora.
Alfama is a very peculiar neighborhood resemble an old village not only in appearance as to have a relatively small and close community. The neighborhood is visited daily by Portuguese and foreign tourists and is known for its restaurants and fado houses, as well as the festivals of the Popular Saints, especially on the night of St. Anthony, from 12 to 13 June.

Space with about 900HA large areas of diverse forest, the Parque Florestal de Monsanto offers great potential for passive recreation. The dense forest is not always a welcoming place for man, however, its contrast to the clearing and the timely opening expansive views of the city and the river, make the Monsanto Forest Park a very attractive location of the point of view landscaped.
The Monsanto Forest Park offers a wide range of activities. Here you can discover a number of trails for mountain biking, or become a real runner, climber or even skater! But if you simply want to enjoy a family can conduct tours by Monsanto rails, or hold a picnic in the Parks Picnic
