Great food in a historic venue.
The Heirloom Restaurant is located inside the grand and gorgeous Atheneum Hotel. Dining inside and also on the porch that overlooks the lake.
Likewise, the Lobby Lounge is a new addition, serving boozy drinks and bar food.
Our recommendation: grab a drink, find a spot on the porch, and enjoy a drink with a view!

Tops is a good grocery store, right in Mayville, a 15 minute drive from Chautauqua. You can find most things there, although it’s not as good as Wegmans if you have a specialized diet (organic, gluten free, vegan, etc).

Huge store with something for everyone. They have a wide variety of food, including for people with special diets (tons of organic, gluten-free, and vegetarian options). It’s a bit of a drive (20-25 minutes) but worth it if you want to stock up for the week.
