August E’s is great for a fancy dinner night or to eat some amazing sliders at the bar casually. They have a wonderful sushi menu, the lobster bisque is to die for, and their steak is one of the best in the region. They have an incredible bar and make a superior dirty martini.

After lunch, I would head to downtown Fredericksburg for some fabulous shopping. There are numerous shops on Main Street, stretching from Washington Street to Milam Street, passing by Marktplatz. Additionally, there is shopping available on Lincoln Street in an area known as the Warehouse District, where you can find Carol Hicks Bolton Antiques; in Woerner Warehouse, you will find a store called Dish, and across the street, Black Chalk Home and Laundry.

Live Music at the West End of Main Street Fredericksburg
If you prefer live music and dancing, visit the west end of Main Street. You can go to Hondo’s for outdoor dancing or cross the street to experience indoor dancing at Crossroads. Both places are usually crowded, but the people-watching is great. If you feel like dancing, both spots are good choices.
