Bury Meadow Park is a short walk up the hill and is great for exercising your dog and also great for children to let of steam in the playground too!!
There are longer walks around the university grounds and the green circle walk goes all around the city edges.

The Imperial ( The Impy) was the first Wetherspoons pub and is still going strong !
Good value food and drink all day, including breakfast 🍳 and less than five minutes from our front door ! Loads of seating both inside and outside in the summer and a beautiful building too!

This lovely pub on the canal is a great walk from the quay or a boat ride in the summer, it is child and dog friendly with real ales and fab pub food. They also host a huge bonfire at the beginning of November which is great fun and have special events throughout the year.

Chandos do great coffee from local suppliers and also do THE BEST sandwiches at lunchtime! So you’d better be quick!

Our guests have ordered a Moroccan takeaway from Al-Farid restaurant at 3 Cathedral Yard, they had a mezze-style takeaway (via Deliveroo, I think) and it was very nice and the food served in the restaurant is great (in a very atmospheric setting) so highly recommended.

And don’t forget to sample a sandcastle Ice cream! There are lovely walks as well as amusements and activities for children and the dogs love it too!" ( dogs are welcome at each end of the beach all year and on the main beach from September to March)

The Exeter to Exmouth Cycle path (Exe estuary trail) is fantastic for all ages and speeds! There are places to stop to look at the wildlife and also great places to stop for an ice cream too!

St James Stadium is the home of Exeter City Football Club and it’s alway great to hear the crowd on a Saturday afternoon! You can walk to the ground from our house and stop for a drink en route at The Stand Off or The Old Firehouse.

From mid November to mid December you should visit the Christmas market it has a great selection of local food and drinks producers and crafts and gifts. There are lots of yummy food stalls too and the bar is a great place to meet up and try the mulled apple gin it’s delicious!
