There is so much charm in the few downtown blocks. The locals are eclectic and vibrant and welcome visitors. Dozens of rocking chairs are scattered around the streets of downtown from late spring through early fall each year. The amazing rocking chairs are such favorites of the region, it has dubbed Black Mountain the "front porch." Each year, in October, the chairs are auctioned off to make way for new batch of chairs.
Live music is something Black Mountain has prided itself. Check out the line up at the White Horse Black Mountain. You can hear a mix of bluegrass, jazz, classical, or perhaps Celtic melodies.

There just so much to choose from. We love Dripolator Coffeehouse. They have a great choice of coffee and tea with great non-dairy options.
