Discovery Museum in Newcastle is a great day out for kids it's an interactive fun experience. Just get the metro from the apartment (it's just a short walk away) get off at St. James and its another short walk away.

Walk from the apartment along the promonade pass the historic fish quay carry on and visit Admiral Collingwoods statue, he was Nelson's second in command at Trafalgar, take in the stunning views across the harbour, in August watch the planes fly by while they perform at the sunderland air show, keep walking and turn a corner to see tynemouth priory, walk along the North Pier and watch cruise ships and international ferries enter and leave the Tyne. Carry on until Tynemouth village and Longsands beach.
