Wells Harbor park is our favorite for families! The parking is free and there are picnic pavilions, a playground, and a beachfront. The beach is great for young families because there are no big waves.

Wells has seven miles of beach for you to explore, play in the sun, or just stretch out on the soft sand. Wells Beach is the best known. A half-mile south is Crescent Beach, at the end of Mile Road, where you can search out crabs and tiny sea creatures in tide pools. There is also Drakes Island Beach, Moody Beach, and Wells Harbor Beach.

These long, wide sandy beaches are located along Beach Avenue, off Routes 9 & 35 and offer the perfect place to walk, lay in the sun, play in the surf, look for sand dollars or just enjoy the sight of the waves rolling into shore. We especially love the tidepools you can find at Mother's beach during low tide.
Visitor parking kiosks are available at the beaches.

Also try their Blueberry Yummy Toast spread. They have amazing apple cider and blueberry milk as well! It's about 20 minutes inland from Wells.
If you are visiting during September/October you can pick apples from their orchard! They also have yummy apple cider donuts.

Our favorite nearby lighthouse! There is free parking and lots of rocks to climb on and explore. You cannot walk up to the lighthouse, but it is the perfect backdrop for photos and a beautiful place for a picnic lunch.
