Tortuguero can only be reached by boat . Shared boats depart daily from La Pavona . Driving Distance from Villa Zulayu is about 1 1/2 hours. Follow directions to La Pavona. Parking overnight is available in La Pavona and is safe . Best time of the year to visit Tortuguero is from August to October . Turtles go out to lay eggs only at night. To truly enjoy Tortuguero, it is recommended that you stay at least one night there . Tip: The Shared boat is very affordable . Hotel pick ups are expensive.

Barra del Colorado
A day trip to the hot springs is only a two-hour drive away. Leave very early and enjoy the springs in any hotel or public bath of your preference. During a clear day, the cone-shaped top of the volcano is spectacular! Arenal Volcano is currently active, so hiking to the top is not possible. The entrance to the national park provides great views and plenty of opportunities to admire nature. You can drive back home after visiting San Carlos . This is an easy and safe route to take .

Plan to leave early at 6:00 am to avoid traffic and road construction delays. Get to Puerto Viejo or Cahuita National Park in time for breakfast . You can spend the day on the beach and have a tasty lunch with Caribbean food and a touch of coconut in any local restaurant. After 5:00 pm, when traffic slows down, return to the property . I would describe Puerto Viejo and Cocles as the perfect Caribbean lifestyle . Food , music , ambience and more . The tip is to avoid Limon Centre and go directly to the towns mentioned .

It has a breathtaking view of a water fall and hundreds of hummingbirds and other exotic birds. In La Paz Gardens you can see most of Costa Rica's wildlife in one place, as well as waterfalls and butterflies . I recommend buying tickets in advance.
