Sightseeing

This is the iconic Monument Valley! There is a self guided, 17- mile loop drive available for guests to drive their own high clearance, 4-wheel drive capable vehicle, however, you will learn the most through a guided Jeep tour. You can book in advance or the day of your visit. Hiking in Monument Valley is limited without a guide, but ‘Wildcat Trail’ is a 4-mile (2 hour) loop trail around the ‘mittens’. On the same website as listed above, there is contact information for a guided hiking tour in the valley. https://www.monumentvalleytribalpark.com/activities/tours

Traveling Tips

Water consumption while in the desert is vital. Recommended 1 gallon (~4 liters) of water per person per day. Pack a water bottle to refill. There are not many places to get food, so packing any lunch and snacks you may need during your adventures is key. Fuel up as often as you see a gas station, trying not to go below 1/2 tank. Gas stations are approximately 30-40 miles apart and limited cell phone service.
