Ulverston Walks

The canal is 1.25 miles long and runs from the town to the coast of Morecambe Bay. It is entirely straight and on a single level. It is an isolated canal and does not connect to the main canal network. At the end you are treated with The Bay Horse Hotel & Restaurant for some nice food and a beer.

This is such a lovely walk, if you wanted to make the walk longer make sure you walk over The Flan and the back of Hoad. It is also the start of the Cumbria Way!

If you are feeling energetic then take a walk up Hoad Monument, hear you will get a great view of the town and looking out to the bay. The monument is open on a Sunday (if the flag is flying) But It isn’t one for the faint-hearted.

This is our local! They have a fantastic craft beer choice with a small bar but has plenty of extra seating upstairs. The guys that work there are very knowledgeable! They have a great selection of different ales, IPA’s, Stout’s and my all time favorite, Sours! you must try a sour if you go!! Fridges are always stocked with beers from across Europe, you can also get a take out if you want to take them back to the house. If you like anything on draught for a take out, just ask as they have a can machine!! If you hear any one say "Beerwolf" this is the place, unfortunately they have had to change there name.
