Thought NYC has the best begals? Think again! Many, many flavors of begals and fresh cream cheese toppings ... amazing. My husband's favorite is the sesame begal with peanut butter spread and my favorite is the everything begal with spinach parmasan cream cheese. They also serve our local coffee, Dark Canyon Coffee. Enjoy!

This is our favorite local Mexican restaurant. Mainly because we LOVE 2 dishes in particular: fajita chicken quesadilla and chicken fajita burrito. Family owned and super friendly. Its popular though, so go early and be patient.

Very good BBQ place. Its a little farther away then most of my other food places, but worth the drive. This place will sell out, so best to check their hours and call ahead to make sure they still have what you want.

The most popular ice cream shop in Rapid City. Its just east of downtown. Inside and outside seating. Its even open pretty late in the summer. There is usually a long line, but we will just chat with people in line and have fun while waiting.

Hiking/mountain biking
Excellent in-town hiking and mountain biking 1 mile from the house with amazing views of the hills and downtown. Over 20 miles of great trails. I spend many hours on these trails! Directions from the house to trailhead: Go south (left if facing house) on Joy Ave 2 blocks to the end, make a left and continue to 4 way stop at Allen and North Streets. Make a right onto North Street. Continue on North St for about 3/4 of a mile. Just past the apartment buildings on the right is a parking lot for the trail head. Note that the bike path also connects here.

A fun place to visit! I personally love the bird show, but the snakes are pretty cool. There is also a famous alligator. This is a place to go when the weather is nice as most of it is outside.

Awesome Historic Theater in Downtown. About 1 mile from the house so walkable. There is a useful pedestrian crosswalk at 6th street to get across Omaha Street. Go to the pond at the Civic center then head South over the creek and past the playgrounds to the crosswalk.

Fresh produce? Yes please! There are also often vendors with fresh milk, eggs, and grain fed meats not to mention awesome baked goods homemade jams. This is where I buy rhubarb for my pies.

This is also where a peice of the Germany Wall is. I walk here all the time and love it. Less than 1 mile from the house, just south of The Monument civic center/arena.

Very nice laundromat and dry cleaners. They also offer wash and fold services if you just want to drop it off and go enjoy your day. Staff is great, helpful and friendly. Inside is clean and well organized. I personally use this place and am always happy with their service. Bonus - its less than 1 mile from the house!
