Sightseeing

The Abbey is wonderful , there is a lot to see. A great tour in the Abbey is the tower tour. A private guide takes you to the top of the tower, behind the clock face. There's wonderful views of the city but there are many steps to climb!

Food scene

Wonderful seafood and menu changes daily. There is a lovely fairy lit space upstairs in the winter and in the summer it is an open air terrace.

Scenic walk into town starting from cottage. Turn left outside the door and cross the Wellsway. Walk past the Devonshire Arms pub along Greenway Lane until you reach a gate on the left that takes you into a green playing field. Walk diagonally across the field towards Beechen Cliff school, and keeping the school on your right continue down an alley that leads to Alexandra Park. Alexandra Park is renowned for its spectacular Bath skyline views over the city. Continue past the viewpoint and continue down a long flight of steep stairs (which can be slippy when wet) to the bottom. Turn right at the bottom and right again to walk down Claverton st which has a village feel. Turn left at the end, cross over the canal and take the canal path on the right. Walk along the picturesque canal path crossing over to the other side at Bathwick Hill bridge and back again at the impressive Cleveland House which spans the canal. Head under the bridge and look for the gate leading into Sydney Gardens. Head into the gardens and continue straight past Holbourne Museum onto Gt. Pulteney St. Either cross over the famous Pulteney bridge and head into town or turn left down the small steps and walk along the river to the weir. Continue past Bath rugby ground and the river path brings you out opposite the train station at the bottom of the steps leading up to Alexandra Park. To walk back to teh cottage either walk up the steps or take the easier route along St. Marks rd past the church and up Holloway to Bear Flat and Wellsway.
