Famous Skookumchuck rapids. This hike can be busier than most due to the popularity of seeing the rapids, but we’ll worth it and there’s lots of room on the trail. Grab a coffee at the cute little shop near the trail head when you’re done!

Daniel Point park is a short walk away from the house. About 15 minutes on paved street and then a short 10 minute rocky trail descent to the point. This is a great place to take a book and a blanket and hang out for an hour or two. Seals often hang out there too so you might have some buddies!

Another great hike just a short drive away. About 40 minutes incline with great views of Francis Peninsula and the surrounding area. The trail head is on Garden Bay Road just about 5 minutes away from the house.

A long, rocky beach that's lovely for beach combing with the kids and relaxing with a book. Wonderful on a blustery day! About 30 minutes away in Half Moon Bay.

This little beach is VERY popular with families, as it has a roped off swimming area in the summer months. The beach can be very busy, so be prepared for a lot of families. If you are more adventerous, you can launch your kayaks or paddle boards here and head out to some less inhabited small islands about a 10-15 minute paddle away. Load up a cooler with some snacks and magazines and you're in for a delightful afternoon. About a 20 minute drive from the house.

Dan Bosch Park

If you are more adventerous, you can launch your kayaks or paddle boards here and head out to some less inhabited small islands about a 10-15 minute paddle away. Load up a cooler with some snacks and magazines and you're in for a delightful afternoon. About a 20 minute drive from the house.
I have not spent time at this lake but understand it is popular for families, as it has a gradual entry into the water, unlike the other lakes in the area. About a 10 minute drive from the house.
