If you're looking for a Hike close to Queenstown, go no further than the Ben Lomond trail. The track can take you from Fernhill (from the end of the street the house is on) to a stunning vista looking over the Whakatipu basin.

The bike park is a big hit in the summer. Hire a bike and get a pass from the bike shop and hit the trails up the gondola. There are trails from beginner to advanced.

To skip the 40+ minute line - call them up and place a phone order. Then you just pay at the pick-up window when ready.
NB: sometimes the screen doesn't show all the ready orders so go up and ask at the pick-up counter when the wait time they gave you on the phone is up.
