The highest point of the trail is at about 1800 m above mean sea level and has a vertical drop of approximately 700 m. Number of waterfalls: around 50 of which 5 are big ones (Orpheus waterfall– 70m).

The Monyak Fortress is 586 meters above sea level. It was built during the 12th and 13th centuries. It's one of the highest and larges Medieval fortresses in the Rhodopes.

Here you will find Yagodina Cave - the longest cave in the Rhodope Mountains (8.05 km) and the Devil’s Throat Cave - the highest underground waterfall on the Balkan Peninsula (42 m). Impressive! :)

The bridge was built in 1515 - 1518 upon the remains of an ancient Roman bridge on the road, linking the Aegean region with Northern Thracian valley through the Makaza pass. Great place for picnic! :)
