Big Tree Loop is a 0.1 mile lightly trafficked loop trail located near Rockport, Texas that features beautiful wild flowers and is good for all skill levels. A short paved loop with the Big Tree as the centerpiece. This is part of Goose Island State Park but is located a short drive from the main park.The trail is primarily used for walking, nature trips, and bird watching and is accessible year-round. Dogs are also able to use this trail but must be kept on leash.
On that same street is the gulf shore. You can see the water!

Rockport Beach
If you love the water this is the place for you.
From November to March, the world's only migrating flock of over 265 Whooping Cranes calls the Aransas Wildlife Refuge home. Nowhere else can you view these magnificent birds so closely.
Scheduled boat trips to the Aransas Wildlife Refuge run throughout the Whooping Cranes' migratory stay. Between Thanksgiving and Christmas Rockport-Fulton enjoys glorious weather, excellent birding, and small crowds. Early in the season there are plenty of wolfberries and blue crabs for the whoopers to eat. Things get exciting because all of the families are sparring to sort out their territories as the rest of the flock arrives. The juveniles have a lot of color and are fun to watch as they still rely heavily on their parents to feed them.
So much to do besides watch the Whooping Cranes and other wildlife.
There are biking trails as well as walking trails. Take your leashed pets along with you. Just remember this a wildlife area.

Memorial Park is the center of the park system that includes both activity centers and natural habitat conservation. Consisting of more than 100 acres, the Park includes 1.65 miles of Hike and Bike trails and a 3/4 mile Nature trail with interpretive signs, and rest benches. Soccer fields, basketball courts, baseball/softball fields, off leash Dog Park, playscapes and fitness stations, birding sites and picnic facilities to serve a wide variety of interests throughout the year.
Dog Park. Rockport has almost two acres of land devoted to a fenced, off-leash dog park, which is located at Memorial Park. There are two separate areas, for large and small dogs; water, disposal stations, training props and benches.

The net structure offers hours of fun and adventure on several levels - climbing, rocking, hand-over-hand climbing, and swinging up, down, horizontally, and vertically. Approximately 16 nets in different geometrical shapes and sizes, inside a supporting framework, form the planets in the spatial net universe.
