kokanee provincial park offers a large range of outdoor activities! It has a beautiful campground situated on kootenay lake and Kokanee Creek with active salmon spawning.
If you go up the logging access road approximately 12 kms, that will take you to the old growth trail, it is easy to
follow the road up 16km that will take you to the trailhead to Kokanee Glacier- a moderate hike approximately 10 km return trip.

This Italian restaurant has a beautiful ambiance for a date or a fun night out with friends. You can go here casual or dressy, but I guarantee you’ll have a great time. Wood fired pizzas and a top of the line wine list.

This restaurant has a very quaint cozy atmosphere and boasts one of the best farm to table menus in this town. They are known for their amazing elk burgers and poutine, but their daily specials are sure to impress. If you leave there without trying the cocktail names “Forrest floor”, you are doing yourself a disservice. One of Nelson’s true culinary gems.

Oso Negro is a unique coffee company that was founded by one of nelson’s local families. The coffee shop has a comfy vibe that would entice any local to open a book and spend an hour or two, but also caters to the fast morning traffic looking for that caffeine boost. Their breakfast sandwich is a local legend, it includes Antoinette’s dip as a topping which you will probably end up wanting to look for at our local grocer as it had become quite famous. I put that sh*t on everything.

Their cocktails are so creative and delicious, I never want to leave. If you are here in the summer, the heated patio is a great place to waste a few hours, specially when they have live music.
