Spectacular waterfall, with good disabled and wheelchair friendly path to it. Turn off the A55 at the junction for Abergwyngregen, 1 junction away from the village here. If you can please park in the free parking to the leftof the bus stop and walk up through the little village to the falls.

Just a 15 minute drive gets you into the Nant Ffrancon and the delights of Snowdonia. You can also walk from our front door through the woods, and up onto the main Carneddau ridge, finishing at Ogwen Cottage or dropping down into Bethesda.

An easy walk from the car park at Ogwen Cottage gets you to Cwm Idwal. Enjoy this Site of Special Scientific Interest as you complete the circular walk around the lake (llyn). Keep an eye and an ear out for the wild goats, they sometimes sound like they are shoutingfor help.

Llyn Idwal
An easy walk from the car park at Ogwen Cottage gets you to Cwm Idwal. Enjoy this Site of Special Scientific Interest as you complete the circular walk around the lake (llyn). Keep an eye and an ear out for the wild goats, they sometimes sound like they are shoutingfor help.
The beach here is a great place to swim. We recommend going in the period around high tide, though usually anytime within 2 hours of high tide means the water is deep enough for a swim. You may find yourself with company from the Llanfairfechan Belles swimming group, who frequently swim around high tide. Please do be careful though, as like any beach, at certain times the currents can be strong and we advise not swimming alone, or in the dark.

Interesting tours of the distillery on offer, plus food in their lovely cafe. A good way to spend a few hours if it it wet, and only 10 minutes away.
You could also do a circular walk of approximately 4.5miles from the house and take in a visit to the distillery and cafe.

If you are looking to walk some of the wonderful coast path in North Wales, we recommend Llanfairfechan as a good base. The inland section of the path runs right past our front door, giving easy access both east and west to the lovely coast path.

Easy walking in several directions is available from the little car park in Capel Curig. This gets you out immediately amongst some spectacular hills, and when the weather is good you have views across to Snowdon.

A lovely hidden and infrequently visited llyn (lake). You can park at Aber Falls, park further up the lane in the top car park after the falls, or even walk from the house to visit the scenic valley which leads up to Llyn Anafon via a rough land rover track. A great way to spend a day, especially if you take a picnic.
