Delicious food - fish restaurant for a special meal. The picture shows a scallop ceviche, it was delicious! It has recently ‘won’ a mention in The Michelin Guide!! Interesting ditty: this was the restaurant where lovely David Attenborough was recently bothered by an activist requesting his help and ejected from the restaurant.

Dorchester is a short drive away and worth a visit. I would recommend heading for this site which is free! There’s a car park right next to it and afterwards you can walk along the river and into Dorchester Town. A lovely trip.

City/town information

Lovely marina and award winning sandy beach, the esplanade has many places to eat. It is a rare thing, sadly, to find such a Victorian seaside town in such impeccable state! Check out the stupendous monument to King George (who stayed on Portland!) close to where one boards/gets off the bus, the beautiful helter skelter and donkey rides (£5) on the beach. Some fab fish restaurants as well as cinema and shopping, a Sealife Centre and amazing sand structure exhibition centre.

Many National and International events plus individual opportunities for water sports. It’s about a 10-15 minute walk from the house or a 3-5 minute drive, and even closer from the apartment! (Very close to Lidl's) There’s plenty of parking there.
