The Achillion Palace is ideally located in the picturesque village of Gastouri. This magnificent Palace was built in 1890, exclusively for Elizabeth (Sissy)- the former Empress of Austria. The impeccably landscaped palace garden is absolutely of a top class caliber. Empress Sissy was also captivated and awestruck by ancient Greek legends and mythology. Her favorite one was Achilles on whose honor she dedicated the palace. The Palace garden is replete with rather artistically sculpted statues of the pantheon of the Greek Gods and Goddesses that consists of a truly mythical setting. The popularity of the Achillion Palace also originates from the fact that the famous James Bond movie “For Your Eyes Only” was shot at this magnificent palace.

It is a Venetian fortress in the city of Corfu. The fortress covers the promontory which initially contained the old town of Corfu that had emerged during Byzantine times. As part of their defensive plans, the Venetians separated the promontory from the rest of the city of Corfu by creating the Contrafossa, a moat which is a sea channel connecting the Gulf of Kerkyra to the North with the Bay of Garitsa to the South, converting the citadel into an artificial island. The fort successfully repulsed all three major Ottoman sieges. The town of Corfu got its Western name from the twin peaks of the fortress ("Coryphe" in Greek).

Under the supervision of the Italian architect Francesco Vitelli, the New Fortress of Corfu was built between 1576 and 1645 and many buildings were demolished in order to have enough material to build the fortress. The new fortress is placed just above the old port and it’s full of underground tunnels that run till the old fortress and the old Corfu town. Though these are off limits to the public nowadays. Spectacular views of Corfu old Town can be viewed from the top.

Watch the planes land and take off from the multiple cafes above or stroll the promenade to the church on the water. Here you can also find 'Mouse Island' to which kaiki take you to visit. There is a Byzantine chapel located here dating from the 11th or 12th century. In Homer's The Odyssey, Poseidon turns the Phaiákian Cutter that brought Odysseus to Ithaka into stone. Beaches

Kontogialos, sports 1 km of soft golden sand which gently slopes into the crystal-clear Mediterranean Sea. It is located just 4 minutes by car from our site or a 20-minute walk (though be prepared for the return journey which is uphill!) and it has been awarded the blue flag for its clean waters and adherence to environmental safety. It boasts various restaurants and beach bars which often offer beach-side service and sunbed/umbrella rentals. For adventure-lovers, there are a host of watersporting activities available. And don't forget the natural spa located on the left-hand side of the beach. Natural clay, which heals the skin and removes toxins can be found here. Just apply to the skin, let it dry and then jump into the sea for a complete experience! And the romantic side of Pelekas: The Legend of the Kontogialos rocks. Who would have known that our Pelekas Beach is the setting of an incredible love story? A love story so touching, and so emotive, you’ll look at the the rocks very differently on your next visit.

Greeks often vote Glyfada as a national favourite for summer vacations, and on descending the steep approach road towards the huge beach of fine golden sand you understand why. It has been given the blue flag award and the beach is highly organised with a profusion of sun beds and funky beach bars. Beachside tavernas nestle between the sand and a swathe of trees that supply shade if you wish to find it. Active visitors will find plenty of watersports, but swimmers should beware of sometimes-rough seas and a strong undertow. To the right of the beach a natural spring runs into the water, creating a refreshing coolness in the face of heatwaves.

This is one of Corfu's most beautiful beaches. It is located just 5 minutes by car from the left side of Pelekas beach. Hugged by low hills with pine trees growing right down to the water's edge, this beach is perfect for those in need of peace. With only one restaurant above the beach, the atmosphere is both personable and isolated.

- The writer Lawrence Durrell described Myrtiotissa as 'the loveliest beach in the world’ and few would dissent. The beach of fine golden sand extends at the foot of a sheer cliff covered in pines and other shrubs, and is reached by way of an acutely steep concrete lane - most people park at the top, near a taverna, and walk down. The poor access keeps development at bay, and only one rustic taverna sits near the beach itself. The southern end of the beach, sheltered from view by rocks, is unofficially designated for nudists only (though clothes are not forbidden). From the northern end, a few minutes' walk takes you to a monastery, dedicated to the Virgin of the Myrtles, giving the beach its name.

It is one of the most popular beaches of Corfu and it took its name from the church of Agios Gordios located literally on the sea, at the centre of the beach. The beautiful cove is nested amongst the lush green mountain surrounded by olive tree forests, vineyards and impressive rocks. To reach the beach of Agios Gordios you pass through a beautiful road full of vineyards and high olive trees. Once you reach the beach, plenty of tourists facilities will be available to you. The crystalline waters are ideal for a refreshing swim while water sports equipment are also available for both children and adults. Agios Gordis is also the beach where our rocks for painting come from. If you go, feel free to bring more rocks back to be enjoyed by all.

7.4 km from Pelekas, one finds Ermones beach. It is a pebble beach, which an infamous heritage. Picturesque Ermones Bay claims to be the place where Homer's Odysseus was washed ashore after his voyage from Calypso's isle. Here Odysseus was discovered by the beautiful Nausicaa, daughter of Alcinous, King of the Phaeacians - the legendary inhabitants of Scheria, ancient Corfu.

It consists of two beaches. The first and largest is located on the East of the settlement, and has white sand and is organized with umbrellas, beach chairs and a beach bar that can prepare a snack but also to amuse you with constant music played by the dj. It is a village in northwestern Corfu. Corfu has been suggested to be the mythical island of the Phaeacians, and the bay of Palaiokastritsa to be the place where Odysseus disembarked and met Nausicaa for the first time. The monastery in Palaiokastritsa dates from 1225. There is a museum inside. The water is quite cool due to natural underwater springs. Many people enjoy taking a boat tour of the Blue Caves, visiting the aquatic museum or doing one of the many sporting activities offered at the beach.
