Sandstone meets lava flows - it's stunning. There are 3 wonderful hikes and the Sandstone Bluff overlook is worth the stop. There are also ice caves along the Crater road that are worth exploring.

There is a wonderful petroglyph site on one of the islands in the lake. Rangers will take you there via boat. Otherwise the lake is a nice place to hike, swim, and picnic.

this is a small lake, but people seem to love it for fishing. It has a nice short hiking trail - perfect for letting the dog get out and stretch her legs.
