Tredethy House - The Garden Lodge

A selection from our reviews

"The Garden Cottage is an absolute gem!" "We will never forget our family game of French Cricket on the front lawn of this beautiful house as the sun set over the valley." "The house was even better than the pictures suggested and the private garden benefitted from the sun most of the day..." "The lodge is spacious, perfectly renovated and set in a lovely partially walled garden with the backdrop of a grand house." "In striking distance of both coasts & some lovely country pubs.
" "Great for all generations. We took grandparents and children, plenty of attractions for all. Will definitely be returning." "A lovely place to stay with stunning views. The Garden Lodge is beautifully fitted out and spotlessly clean."
Tredethy is a small hamlet and historically part of the Tredethy House estate, home of Prince Chula of Thailand in the mid 20th century. It is 500 metres from the Camel Trail at Hellandbridge from where you can walk or cycle along the wooded river bank to Wenford Bridge or to Bodmin, Wadebridge and Padstow. The nearest pub and community shop are in St Mabyn, about 1.5 miles away by road or 2 miles by public footpath. Polzeath and other beaches are within half an hour's drive. In fact our central location makes anywhere in Cornwall easy to reach.

A great place to visit to experience the fascinating but grisly history of Cornwall's jail. Some parts are not for the faint-hearted!

This popular fishing town on the Camel estuary was made famous by Rick Stein. It's well worth a visit for its windy lanes and selection of shops and galleries although it can get crowded in the summer months.

The north coastal beaches of Cornwall are beautiful at all times of year. There's something for everyone: surfing, bodyboarding, walking or a quick evening dip... There are too many to name but we have our favourites and are happy to recommend!
