Transfăgărășan, Romania 🇷🇴 For my first spring break while living in Poland, I decided to do a road trip from Warsaw to the Black Sea in Bulgaria. Along the way, I had to drive through Romania and visit a supplier in Bucharest for work. While I was visiting the supplier, the plant manager told me about the greatest driving road in the world (Transfăgărășan). Unfortunately, it was out of the way during this trip and I didn’t get to visit it. Luckily, I made a friend in Sibiu, Romania and I made a return trip later that summer to Romania. As part of my visit, we drove through Transfăgărășan. This picture is from the top of the mountain.

St. Sophia’s Cathedral, Kiev, Ukraine 🇺🇦 During a long weekend while living in Poland, my friends and I decided to take a trip to Kiev, Ukraine. Right away, the city felt different. While traveling through Europe, I have gotten used to being amongst other foreigners. In Kiev, many times, we were the only foreigners around. The city was great with a good metro system and some very deep underground metro tunnels. There were many things to do and the nightlife was outstanding. The bell tower from St. Sophia’s Cathedral stood out from my pictures. I’m glad we visited Kiev when we did because shortly after we left a revolution broke out.

Old Town, Dubrovnik, Croatia 🇭🇷 Living in Poland while having a cousin who was living in northern Italy allowed me to take some interesting road trips. After returning to Europe from a wedding in the USA, I decided to travel from my cousin’s house to Dubrovnik, Croatia. Upon arrival, you couldn’t help but notice the Old Town because the town itself looked like it was made from marble surrounded by giant stone walls. This is a picture from one of those stone walls. I had a great time while I was there and the restaurants in the area served delicious seafood. However, it did rain one day, and I found out that the marble was very slippery when wet.

Manarola, Italy 🇮🇹 Italy is my favorite country to visit. The Italian coastline is full of breathtaking landscapes. This is a picture of Manarola which is in Cinque Terre, Italy. At local art fair in the USA, an artist wanted $2K for a giant picture of Manarola. Instead of buying this artist’s picture, I decided to use my own picture. One winter, I had the opportunity to visit my Italian cousin and her family near Rome. I took that opportunity to also visit the Vatican. This is a picture from that visit. After winning two roundtrip tickets to Europe from Lufthansa, I took that opportunity to bring my mom to the Vatican and gift her that experience too.

Warsaw, Poland 🇵🇱 For almost three years, I called Warsaw, Poland my home. When I was living there, I had a very nice apartment with a really good view of the Warsaw skyline. Every morning when I woke and every night before I went to bed, I would stare at the skyline. Therefore, it is only fitting that my picture of Warsaw is its skyline. Blue Lagoon, Malta 🇲🇹 Having traveled most of Europe by car when I was living in Europe, I decided to visit some of the European island nations in the Mediterranean Sea after I moved back to the USA. One of those island nations was the nation of Malta which is near Italy. I was impressed by the history and the development of this small island nation. I was also impressed by the landscapes. The most impressive landscape was the blue lagoon. This is a picture from the blue lagoon. The hikes around this area were incredible. When visiting the blue lagoon, make sure you take some time to visit some of the caves in the area too.

Blue Lagoon, Malta 🇲🇹 Having traveled most of Europe by car when I was living in Europe, I decided to visit some of the European island nations in the Mediterranean Sea after I moved back to the USA. One of those island nations was the nation of Malta which is near Italy. I was impressed by the history and the development of this small island nation. I was also impressed by the landscapes. The most impressive landscape was the blue lagoon. This is a picture from the blue lagoon. The hikes around this area were incredible. The House of Achilles, Cyprus 🇨🇾 The island nation of Cyprus in the Mediterranean Sea is one of the most interesting island nations that I’ve ever visited. The House of Achilles, Cyprus 🇨🇾 The island nation of Cyprus in the Mediterranean Sea is one of the most interesting island nations that I’ve ever visited. This is the first European castle that I ever visited, and it is also my favorite. It looks like Disney’s Sleeping Beauty castle. Antwerp City Hall, Belgium 🇧🇪 Living in Munich, Germany and traveling all over Bavaria tasting delicious beers in different monasteries, I was convinced that German beers were the best in the world. This all changed during my trip to Belgium. Belgian beers are the best beers in the world. You don’t know what a good beer tastes like until you’ve had a real good Belgian beer. On top of that, you don’t know what Waffles and Fries taste like until you’ve had Belgian Waffles and Fries. Lucky for me, when I moved to Cincinnati, I found a restaurant called Taste of Belgium nearby. I highly recommend you visit TOB if you can’t make your way to Belgium in Europe.

Stockholm, Sweden 🇸🇪 One of my favorite things to do while living in Europe was taking road trips. One of my most memorable road trips was my road trip to Scandinavia. The Scandinavian highways are well maintained, and the cities are very modern. In Stockholm, I was surprised by how many roads and even highways are underground because of the long winters. The food in Stockholm wasn’t very memorable and I thought it was kind of bland. If you ever want to try Swedish food just head over to your nearest IKEA. Stockholm, Sweden 🇸🇪 One of my favorite things to do while living in Europe was taking road trips. One of my most memorable road trips was my road trip to Scandinavia. Each country is a little different, and I was pleasantly surprised by the people, the food and the nightlife. A brand-new tradition that my friends and I started once I moved back to Cincinnati was traveling to an exotic location for New Year’s Eve. The first year we started this new tradition we chose Riga, Latvia and we had a great time. I would consider going back again.

Alcazar of Toledo, Spain 🇪🇸 My mom’s side of the family is originally from Spain, and one of my uncles lives in Spain. As such, I’ve been to Spain several times. During one of my trips to Madrid, I decided to take a train trip to several other historic cities near Madrid. One of those historic cities was Toledo and this is a picture of the Alcazar of Toledo. Spanish food is delicious and one of my favorite dishes is Paella. However, one of the things that takes some getting used to is how late Spaniards eat dinner. I was surprised to see that many restaurants didn’t open for dinner until 9 PM.

Dettifoss, Iceland 🇮🇸 As an avid traveler, I’m usually in charge of making a trip’s plans (even though I like spontaneity and I like to get recommendations from the locals). Iceland was an exception. It was a trip with a few friends who made a jam-packed itinerary for the entire trip. As a result, the trip was amazing with lots of nature hikes, horse riding, exotic foods, and whale watching. Iceland’s natural beauty is unmatched and if you go in the summer, you’ll never see the sun set. It was difficult to capture Iceland’s natural beauty with one picture and so I picked Dettifoss. Dettifoss is the most powerful waterfall in Europe.

When I arrived in Santorini, I understood what they meant. The Greek Islands are beautiful and are a great place to vacation. For my trip to Santorini, I traveled with my best friend, and we had a great time. I was amazed by the persistence of humanity to build cities so close to an active volcano that had destroyed these same cities in the past. During my trip, we saw ruins of such destroyed cities. Life on the Greek Islands is very relaxed, and the food is delicious.
