Favorite Casual Restaurants
The Hop Lot in Suttons Bay is a fantastic outdoor brewery and biergarten with a fun menu (the pulled pork nachos, taco trio and spicy chicken sandwich are personal favorites). On summer weekends, they often have live music.
In the winter, the private heated igloos are a ton of fun (reservations required).
We absolutely love this spot - great place to bring kids!

Lake Michigan pure turquoise and hiking the trails at Sleeping Bear offers really rewarding views!
If you've never experienced Sleeping Bear Dunes, they are an absolute must-see. My personal favorite trails are Pyramid Point, the Dune Climb (great fun for running down the dunes) and the Empire Bluff Trail - all great little hikes with huge, panoramic views.

Two great trails close to the house are the Clay Cliffs (first choice) and the Whaleback Trail (close second). Both are in Leland, about 2 miles long with great views of both Lake Michigan!

For a great autumn color tour, you can't beat driving the length of M22 (starting in TC, making your way up to Northport, and down towards Glen Arbor). Another amazing option is the Pierce Stocking drive in Sleeping Bear Dunes - the views any time of year are incredible!

Beaches and Beach Towns
Vans Beach in Leland is my favorite - it's also a fantastic place to go for a sunset picnic! I also love strolling around downtown Leland and the docks and shanties in Leland's Fishtown. Grab a coffee from the Blue Boat Coffee Shop - their Cafe Miel is outstanding!
