The Merry Maidens Stone Circle lies beside the B3315 road about 4 miles (6 km) from Penzance. Designed 200 years ago this was one of Humphry Repton’s last commissions and brings together a multitude of landscaping elements for which Repton was renowned ... the garden and walks are superb ... I defy anyone to find a more beautiful spot in the whole of England. There is no traffic or aircraft noise, no light pollution, just the sound of the Tamar river ... their delicious cuisine is unbelievably delightful after a walk along the Tamar ... a true gem ... we love it
