The picturesque Waterford Greenway hugs the coastline as it follows old railway lines from lively Waterford City, through the foothills of the Comeragh Mountains and onto the pretty harbour town of Dungarvan. You can walk part of the way, cycle in both directions or cycle one way and get the bus back to Waterford from Dungarvan.
With plenty of pit-stops and trailside attractions along the way, exploring the 46km route really is a perfect short break.

Crotty's Lake
The Vee Scenic Drive is famous because of the breathtaking panoramic views of mountains and valley’s affored whilst driving through the Knockmealdown Mountains. Follow the route from Lismore driving in a northerly direction though rugged mountainous landscape.The journey rises to about 2,000 feet (610m) above sea level. Take time to view Bay Lough a bottomless corrie lake that is the reputed dwelling place of Petticoat Loose. It is also famous as the resting place of Samuel Grubb, whose grave, known as Grubb's Grave or Grubb's Monument, stands looking across the Vee Valley, since his death in 1921. This route is extremely popular with cyclists and walkers who relish the challenge of the climb.

The gardens of the estate comprise seventy acres of intensively planted woodland garden and a four-acre walled garden. The entire collection consists of over three thousand different trees and shrubs, more than two thousand Rhododendrons, six hundred Camellias, three hundred Acer cultivars, six hundred conifers, two hundred and fifty climbers and fifteen hundred herbaceous plants.[6] It is internationally recognised for its rare species of plants

About Copper Coast Geopark
The Copper Coast Geopark is in Co. Waterford, Ireland and is an outdoor museum of geological records; it stretches along the coast from Kilfarassy Beach, near Fenor in the east to Ballyvoile Beach near Stradbally to the west. Volcanoes, oceans, deserts and ice sheets all combined to create the rocks which provide the physical foundation of the natural and cultural landscapes of the area. Almost hidden and well protected between two hills lies the little bay. The extensive sandy beach stretches a good distance from the sea into the interior. If you visit the beach at low tide, you have to walk accordingly a fair bit, before one can dip your toes into the sea water. On one side of the bay, the River Tay runs gently through the sandy riverbed and flows into the sea. On the opposite side, inland, there is an old lime kiln.

A true haven of peace, the place seems like the end of the world, away from civilization. The water is beautiful, transparent and can take on turquoise colours in bright sunshine.
The place is ideal for surfing: it must be said that the beach is placed in a cove, which provides beautiful rollers, and waves to make surfers pale with envy!
If you’re not too keen on water sports, the beach is also worth a swim, a picnic by the water, or a little kite flying. Don’t hesitate to end your excursion with a short visit to the village of Annestown!

Newtown Cove & The Guillamene are situated about 500 metres and a short 5 minute walk away from the park.
Famous for their deep and clear waters, they are regarded by many as two of the best outdoor swimming spots in Ireland.
Newtown is a small sheltered cove with a stony beach, with easy access for swimmers by the slipway or ladder.
The Guillamene can be accessed by steps from the car park, it is popular with both young and old. There are platforms to dive from, a small changing area and easy access to and from the water by multiple sets of steps. Swimming is easy at both high or low tides.
The rocky outcrops below the steps to the Guillamene provides a perfect location for some shore fishing.
