Our fun bar & beautiful ocean view Kauai Restaurant creates fresh cocktails and great food. We are simple, old school bartenders using the best ingredients. Come and enjoy Guava, Lilikoi or Blood Orange Margaritas, Kauai Rum Mai Tai‘s, Bourbons, Beers, worldly wines and light bites between 4pm - 6pm with dinner starting at 5pm. We take are Bar Keeping quite seriously here at S.O.V. We use only Fresh Squeezed Citrus from Local Farms, Imported Puree's, the Finest Maraschino Cherries and the Best Tonic and Ginger Beer on the market. We DO NOT use a soda gun, so all of our drinks are hand made, really fresh and served at the highest level of quality. Our Well is better than most and we use all appropriate glassware for our Fine Cocktails and Craft Beers.

Activities

Plantation era town in historic Poipu. Great Fish Market with fresh Poke. shopping and beaches. One of Kauai's most popular destinations. Poipu Beach on the South Shore of Kauai, Hawaii The Travel Channel and Stephen Leatherman, aka "Dr. Beach" have both called Poipu Beach one of America's best beaches. The Dr's list of best beaches is based on a rating system that includes such criteria as the makeup of its sand, its length, width at low tide, conditions for swimming and snorkeling, boogie boarding waves, its park and facilities and picnic areas, ease of access, appeal to a wide range of ages, etc. Others prefer Poipu because the weather seems better here than the rest of the island. When it's raining elsewhere on the island, Poipu is often sunnier. Still others prefer Poipu for less scientific reasons - it's just where everybody else is. Face it, a person can only take so much solitude and deserted beaches - eventually you want to see some people! In Hawaiian, poipu means crashing (as in crashing waves) although the beach is mostly protected from large wave action by a rock formation known as Nukumoi Point a few hundred feet offshore from the middle of the beach. A narrow sand spit known as a tombolo forms from the beach out to the point forming two back-to-back, perfectly formed crescents of sandy beach. The tombolo forms naturally due to wave action and currents but can disappear for years between appearances. After an absence of about 10 years its reformation in 2010 made local news. The eastern crescent beach ends in a shallow, semi-enclosed pool that is ideal for children and a manned lifeguard tower helps keep an eye on them. Surfers catch waves just beyond Nukumoi Point, but this isn't a surf break for beginners. Unless you're an expert, this might be a good place to watch and learn from the local experts. Poipu Beach Park is just behind the lifeguard tower and provides a large grassy expanse for Frisbee throwing, more sunbathing, picnic tables, barbecues, restrooms, and fresh water showers. The park also includes playground equipment providing even more entertainment for children. The beach and park are collectively known as Poipu Beach Park or just Poipu Beach. The entire area surrounding the beach and in a broader sense, just about everything south of Koloa is also known as Poipu. Poipu Beach is neighbor to several other beaches that offer more variety and fun. Brennecke Beach is just on the other side of the park and is the most popular boogie boarding beach on the island. Shipwreck Beach is further to the east and Kiahuna Beach is just to the west. All three are within easy walking distance from Poipu Beach.

Kayak Paddle on the Wailua River Jungle Hiking to Uluwehi (secret) Falls Swimming and get Photos at the Falls. The hike to Secret Falls is a relatively modest 30 minute stroll in dry conditions and there is minimal elevation gain. Following periods of rain the trail can be muddy and VERY slippery and it becomes more challenging. Secret Falls is an amazing place; one of the most beautiful waterfalls in Hawaii to which you can hike. The kayaking portion of the trip just adds to the allure! This waterfall is so tall you'll find it difficult to fit the whole thing in one picture. And at the base of the falls is a wide, deep pool perfect for swimming. There are kayak rental companies where you do not need to haul on the top of your car. I will add the numbers to the photos. It’s a very fun day activity. They do not rent kayaks on Saturday, but you can bring your own or do with a SUP.

Breathtaking bike/walk path Oceanside. Length: 7.3 miles Trail end points: Lydgate State Park and Ahihi Point Trail surfaces: Asphalt, Concrete Ke Ala Hele Makalae is Hawaiian for "The Path that Goes by the Coast," and describes this beautiful multi-use path that will eventually follow the eastern shoreline for 17 miles from Nawiliwili to Anahola on the island of Kauai (also known as the "Garden Isle"). The rail-trail partially follows a former railroad line once used to haul the island's sugarcane. Today, the route offers access to parks, beaches, and coastal communities. A highlight of the trail is Lydgate Park, which houses two lagoons protected by a stone seawall offering calm waters for ocean swimming and snorkeling, as well as picnic pavilions, tent campsites, and a playground. All along the trail, nearly two dozen interpretive signs share information about local archeological, cultural and historic sites; the native names of streams and canals; the plants and animals that can be seen here (including whales and monk seals); and many more topics unique to the area. Currently, just over 7 miles of path are completed in two disconnected segments. One section connects Lydgate Park to Wailua Beach Park, and the rest links Kapa'a to Ahihi Point. There is a 2-mile gap between the two segments (between Wailua Beach Park and Kapa'a), which you can bridge via road; however, the shoulders are narrow and the highway is busy, so use caution if cycling. Work is in progress to build a trail that links the two segments. Trail to be continued in front of “The islander on the beach” and ending right before “Lava Lava” Parking and Trail Access For the southern segment, parking and restrooms are available at the north end of Lydgate Park (off Nalu Road). For the northern segment, parking and restrooms are available at Waipouli Beach Park at the Lihi Boat Ramp on Kaloloku Road, as well as at Kapaa Beach Park at the end of Niu Strbre
