Parks and Nature
Treman has the best of all the local gorges. Woods. Rock walls. Waterfall. Winding stream over stones. Just a few miles south of Ithaca.
Lower entrance is closest to the swimming hole with a waterfall and a diving board and a life guard. Truly spectacular. For the best waterfall (Lucifer Falls) and gorge views, start at the Upper Entrance and walk down. You can go all the way to the bottom. But that is a pretty long walk for small kids, so if you mostly want to swim, use the Lower Entrance. Both ends are amazing!

Beautiful hikes, including the Gorge Trail (truly spectacular waterfalls and stone stairs, but closed in winter) and the Bear Trail (also stunning and open year-round), as well as the longer and delightful trail around Lake Treman at Upper Buttermilk.

Cinemapolis is Ithaca's member-supported art house cinema that plays those cool, independent films During your visit to downtown, pop in to enjoy first-run contemporary art films in the cozy five-screen movie theater.
The screening rooms feature stadium seating, gorgeous digital projection, and immersive surround sound. The treats at the concession stand include homemade baked goods, signature Red Zinger iced tea, and gourmet toppings for Ithaca's best popcorn.
Cinemapolis is located under the Green Street parking garage. You can park on the second level, come down the Green Street stairs and stay completely dry in inclement weather.
