The historic C&O Canal towpath abuts the great Potomac River. Going South on the path you would end up in Georgetown, DC. Going North you would end up in Pittsburgh, PA. At MM55 is the Brunswick, MD put in point where you can go to the C&O National Park visitor center. Brunswick is also a cute town to catch a bite or an ice cream cone. The towpath is a smooth trail, making it easy for biking, walking or jogging.

A 5 minute drive from the house — you’ll probably pass it on the way in. This is a small park with a paved, looped trail, a portion of which goes along Middle Creek, a tributary coming down from Catoctin Mountain.
